Chresten Knaff scored two first-half goals and the Flathead High School boys soccer team beat visiting Butte 4-0 on Saturday to remain undefeated in Western AA play.

Knaff scored in the 24th and 38th minutes on assists from Brendan Passmore and Luke Fischer and Flathead led 2-0 at halftime.

Fischer made it 3-0 with an unassisted goal in the 46th minute and Andrew Gill finished the scoring a minute later off an assist from Isaiah Dasen.

The Braves had 24 shots on goal compared to 12 for Butte and Flathead goalkeeper Jordan Vaughan continued his spectacular play with 11 saves.

"He's really stepped up and is being a leader on the field," said Flathead coach Eric Sawtelle. "He's doing a great job."

Flathead improved to 5-0 in conference play and 5-1 overall while Butte dropped to 3-2 in Western AA and 3-3 overall.

"It was, overall, a really good game," Sawtelle said. "We had a good, long week of practice, worked on a lot of things and our boys came out and played really well."

Flathead is host to Columbia Falls on Tuesday at 8:30 p.m. in a non-conference match at Legends Stadium.
