George A. Johnsrud, 63

George A. Johnsrud, 63, of Columbia Falls, passed away Sept. 16, 2006.

He was born Sept. 7, 1943, in Louisville, Ky., to George Raymond Johnsrud and Palma Amanda (Gysler) Johnsrud. He attended school in Columbia Falls and Cascade. He graduated from Hinsdale in 1963.

He served in the Army in Germany and was honorably discharged in 1966.

He worked for the Anaconda Aluminum Company, Royal Logging and Plum Creek MDF mill, retiring in 2005. He was also a member of the Operating Engineers Union.

He enjoyed the outdoors - camping, hunting, fishing and boating. He was especially proud of his son, Jason, and his granddaughter, Bailee.

He is survived by his son, Jason Johnsrud, and companion, Debbie Winters; brothers, Kermit Johnsrud of Santa Barbara, Calif., and James Johnsrud of Anchorage, Alaska; granddaughter, Bailee Ann; two aunts, uncles and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Palma Johnsrud; brother, Ronald Johnsrud; and son, Raymond Johnsrud.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 21, at the Assembly of God Church in Columbia Falls, with Pastor Randy Knight officiating. Graveside services will be afterward, with a lunch reception at Assembly of God Church.
