Grace May Albright, 87

Grace May Albright went peacefully Sept. 16, 2006, surrounded by her loving family in Kalispell.

Born July 5, 1919, in Dos Palos, Calif., to Oscar and Esther Jacobson. She married Nolan E. Albright on July 12, 1937. They enjoyed many adventures and travels for 53 years. Grace loved spending time with all of her family.

She enjoyed sewing, canning, playing card games, hiking, camping, and many other fun things. She was very good at remembering birthdays, mailing cards and letters regularly. Grace often talked of her numerous jobs. She enjoyed working at her uncle's gas station and Pingles Drug Store in Dos Palos, and the ship yard during World War II.

In 1947, Grace and Nolan moved to Calveras Big Trees State Park. They also lived in Sonoma Coast, Prairie Creek Redwoods State Park, Curry Bidwell State Park and Lake Oroville, all in California. While living in the Oroville area, she worked for Todd McGinnis, also Montgomery Ward in the parts department. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Dos Palos.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Carl Jacobson; husband, Nolan; her son, Leland; and daughter in-law, Debbie Albright.

She is survived by her daughter, Alma, and son in-law, Clinton Shields, of Columbia Falls; and daughter in-law, Karen Albright, of Lamar, Okla.; grandchildren, Pam and Cliff Christensen, Terri and Todd Dowen, of Kalispell, Cindy Shields of Columbia Falls, and Shawna Albright of Vacaville, Calif.; great-grandchildren, Michael Christensen and Amanda Christensen of Kalispell, and Teen Shields of Columbia Falls; sisters, Bea Tiffee and Letha Zuspan, of Dos Palos, Thelma Cline of Stockton, Calif.; sisters in-law, Bess Jacobson of Rohnet Park, Calif., and Jeannie Finch of Vacaville; brother-in-law, Bob and Zella Albright of Oklahoma; and several nieces and nephews. She loved them all dearly.

Services will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 27, at Scheer Memorial in Oroville.
