Whitefish drills Ronan

RONAN - Whitefish fell behind early, but it was all Bulldogs after that in a 25-20, 25-8, 25-11 Northwestern A volleyball victory Saturday night over Ronan.

Whitefish improves to 5-1 overall and in league play for the season.

"Ronan came out after us," said Whitefish coach Jackie Fuller.

"They started strong, came out on fire. I was proud of our girls for settling in and playing hard."

Ronan jumped to a 6-0 lead in the first game, and battled the Bulldogs until the end.

Whitefish, however, rolled to easy wins in the second and third games.

"We settled down, started serving the ball," said Fuller.

"We got some things turned around."

WHS had 11 aces in the match with Ashley Ferda and Kaitlin O'Leary leading the way with four and three, respectivley.

Ferda also led in kills with 11 and digs with 12.

Whitefish is back in action Thursday, hosting Eureka.
