Margaret Martinus, 92

Margaret Martinus 'entered into eternal rest' suddenly at Kalispell Regional Hospital on Monday, Sept. 18, 2006.

She was born May 19, 1914, in Detroit to Anthony and Agnes Chojnacki. She was the youngest of three siblings.

She was married to Henry J. Martinus on June 27, 1936, in South Bend, Ind. They made their home in Grand Rapids, Mich., until her husband's death April 19, 1965.

In 1975, she moved west to be near her family and especially to enjoy her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, stepfather, husband and one daughter.

Margaret is survived by her son, Donald R. Martinus, and Sally; two grandchildren, Sam Martinus of Johnstown, Pa., and Sonja Nelson and Tom of Homer, Alaska; and four great-grandchildren, Zachary, Jakob, Luke and Carly Nelson; and one brother, John Shevsky, of St. Claire Shores, Mich.; and many nieces and nephews.

She enjoyed fulfilling her calling as a wife, mother, especially grandmother, and a homemaker. She will be greatly missed.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 30, at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, 640 Seventh St. W., in Columbia Falls.

Inurnment will take place in Grand Rapids at a later date.

Arrangements are with the Columbia Mortuary in Columbia Falls.
