Mary Ione Slama, 87

Mary Ione Slama, 87, a former longtime resident of Kalispell, passed away Wednesday, March 28, in Deer Park, Wash., where she has resided for the past several years.

Mary is the dear mother of Gary Slama and Richard Slama of Boise, Idaho, James Slama of Vancouver, Wash., Dianna Slama and Betty Stinger of Deer Park, and Robert McGillivray of Mukilteo, Wash. Her sister, Betty Emerson, resides in Spokane Valley, Wash. Mrs. Slama enjoyed nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Born in 1919 in Kalispell, where she lived for many years, Mary attended grade school and St. Matthew's High School.

Her dear husband, Herman Slama, passed away in 1994. A son, Ronald Slama, passed away in 1971.

She was a member of St. Mary's Presentation Catholic Church in Deer Park and was a longtime member of St. Matthew's Catholic Church in Kalispell.

A funeral Mass honoring Mrs. Slama will be held at 10 a.m. today, Monday, April 2, 2007, in Deer Park, at St. Mary's Presentation Catholic Church, directed by Lauer Funeral Home of Deer Park.

A graveside service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 3, 2007, at the Conrad Memorial Park Cemetery in Kalispell.
