Lucas Constenius of Whitefish placed second in Aerials competition on March 10 at the Chevrolet Freestyle Junior Olympics in Steamboat Springs, Colo.
Constenius, 18, completed a lay-full and a full-full to finish with a 136.09 point total.
Matt Flesher, Chagrin Falls, Ohio, won the competition with a 143.67 score for the same two jumps.
Competitors had to deal with rain and snow conditions, which forced many athletes to opt for easier jumps.
Constenius is a freshman at Westminster College in Salt Lake City. He trains at Utah Olympic Park in Park City.
Earlier he competed at Nationals in Killington, Vt., placing ninth over.
Constenius is currently ranked ninth in the U.S. in Aerials. The top six are on the U.S. Ski Team.
Last year Constenius was a member of the U.S. Junior World Ski Team, which competed in Russia. He placed sixth in that competition. The junior team consists of the top four aerialists, men and women.
Constenius has been competing since he was 13.
