Barbara (Brinck) Waller, 89, of Gillette, Wyo. died Friday, March 30, 2007, of natural causes in the Pioneer Manor Nursing Home. Stevenson-Wilson Funeral Home of Gillette is entrusted with the arrangements for cremation, and a family memorial and burial will take place in Cut Bank at a later date.
She was born Oct. 17, 1917, in Butte to Claiborne William and Martha (Johnson) Brinck. She was raised and educated in Butte and Missoula. She graduated from Hellgate High School in Missoula. She attended the University of Montana, where she was a member of Alpha Nu Chapter of Kappa Alpha Theta.
On Dec. 11, 1936, she married Dr. George DeLoach Waller at the First Presbyterian Church in Missoula. After World War II, they settled in Cut Bank. Mrs. Waller has been a resident of Gillette since 1996.
Mrs. Waller was an elder and a deacon of the First Presbyterian Church of Cut Bank, a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Gillette, a member of Chapter M of the Montana P.E.O. and a member of the Bath Zabbia Temple No. 21 of the Daughters of the Nile.
Mrs. Waller was an avid reader and enjoyed traveling to Southeast Asia, Australia, New Zealand and Hawaii, classical music, flower gardens, golf and card games.
Mrs. Waller is survived by two daughters, Margaret Elise King of Gillette, and Barbara Joan Martin and Tom of Lafayette, Colo.; two sons, George Don Waller and Gayle of Kalispell and Bob Clay Waller and Mary Ann of Cut Bank; 11 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her baby son; her parents; two brothers; and her sister.
