A 4-year-old girl

A 4-year-old girl took her suitcase and decided she was going to run away from home. She was found and returned to safety immediately.

Whitefish police arrested a 41-year-old Whitefish man on a partner or family member assault charge late Thursday, after a woman reported a boyfriend causing trouble at the house on Wisconsin Avenue.

Emergency medical services were called for a woman who was found intoxicated and on heavy medications.

A bike and shopping cart in the river on the east side of the Baker Street bridge were reported as a hazard Friday. To whom they were hazardous is unclear. Officers were unable to recover them, due to location.
