Ross Norman Boreson, 84

Ross Norman Boreson, 84, passed away Tuesday, March 27, 2007, at Lompoc, Calif., after a three-year battle with cancer. He was born April 28, 1922, at Littlefork, Minn., the son of Alfred and Leah Lillian (LaChapelle) Boreson.

He was educated in Big Falls, Minn., and graduated from Big Falls High School in 1940. He served in European Theater in the U.S. Army during World War II. After his service to his country, he furthered his education at the University of Minnesota and received a bachelor's degree in 1952.

He was united in marriage to Evelyn Naumann in 1948 in Kalispell. They were married for 46 years before her death.

He was employed in the economics department of Continental Oil in Houston, and later as executive vice president of Citizens National Bank and Union Bank both in Los Angeles. He retired in 1981.

He was an avid golfer and card player and he and Evelyn enjoyed traveling the world.

Ross was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Boreson, in 1994; his parents; and a brother, Vernon Boreson.

He is survived by nieces and nephews, including Vernell Drollinger and her husband, Randy; nephew Alden Boreson and wife, Debbie, all of Kalispell, and niece Susan Kelly and husband, Curt, of Pearce, Ariz.; his companion, Audrey Gilpatrick, of Lompoc; and numerous great-nieces and -nephews.

Memorial services for Ross will be at 4 p.m. today, April 13, at Johnson Mortuary chapel, with Pastor Peter Ramseth officiating. Urn burial will be in Glacier Memorial Gardens. There will be no visitation.
