LIBBY - Track fans at the Libby Invitational witnessed new state bests in boys javelin and pole vault Saturday afternoon.

The Loggers' Kyle Baker got in a throw of 197 feet, two inches - the previous best was 186 feet, six inches. Baker also claimed victories in shot put (50-0) and high jump (6-2).

Whitefish's Cort Rogers went 14-foot-3 in pole vault, to also post a new state best.

Polson's Brittany Gardner was a three-event winner with firsts in shot (33-6), discus (121-9) and javelin (116-10).

But none of those three were able to lead their team to victory as Whitefish claimed first among the girls and Polson's boys outscored Whitefish 125 to 102.5.
