Vandals become a pain in the glass

| April 22, 2007 1:00 AM

No glass was safe on North Meridian Road Friday night. A caller watched a guy pick up a rock and break two windows in one building. A few minutes later, another caller reported seeing a guy throw a cinderblock threw a windshield.

Another broken window was reported at Outback Java Shak. Two sliding back windows were broken out of a Family Concepts minivan. More vehicles suffered the same fate at several other North Meridian businesses.

On Liberty Street, which intersects North Meridian, $100 damage was done when a car window was broken out.

A windshield was busted on Aurich Avenue. A BB was shot through the back window of a pickup on Rockefeller Drive.

He said his wife pulled a knife and gun on him. Kalispell police arrested her for felony partner/family member assault.

A 6-year-old boy reported missing was found quickly. He'd accidentally boarded a bus and gotten off on Main Street.

The man who removed the screen, climbed in the window, then later crawled back out, replaced the screen and left wasn't robbing the apartment, as a caller feared. He lived there.

A 51-year-old man was arrested on the mental health act at St. Matthew's School.

Tools were reported stolen from a pickup parked at Western Building Center on Third Avenue East.

A driver was arrested for obstructing a peace officer and unauthorized use of a vehicle. Another driver was arrested for drunken driving and disorderly conduct.

Nothing appeared to be missing from the Anderson & Bliven Law Office on Fourth Avenue East-North, but a window had been broken and the alarm went off.

Three boys yelled obscenities at her from their car as they passed her on her bike; then they tried to cut her off. They may be cited later.
