EUREKA - Kim Blonshine and Auna Lawler both finished with 3 RBIs to help Eureka post a 16-6 nonconference softball victory Monday over Troy.

Eureka had just two hits in the first inning, but capitalized on several errors and walks by Troy's pitcher to push seven runs across the plate.

Amy Roberts (4-4) went the distance for Eureka in the circle, allowing seven hits while striking out nine. She issued no walks.

Roberts also had a big game at the plate. She went 2-for-3 with 2 RBIs. Roberts slammed a home run in the bottom of the fifth inning with one runner aboard.

Ayries Blanck tripled in the final two runs in the bottom of the sixth inning. She led the Lions, going 3-for-4.

"Today, they put it all together and played a good, solid game," said Eureka coach Tom Shay.

"They took advantage of the opportunities that were given to them."

Eureka, 4-4, will play in the Frenchtown Invitational this weekend. The Lions open up with Frenchtown on Friday at 2 p.m.
