Amelia C. Bowen, 80

Amelia C. Bowen, 80, formally of Post Falls, Idaho, passed away April 5, 2007, in Scottsdale, Ariz., where she had resided since October 2004. She was known to her family and friends as "Tiny."

A family service was held April 11 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Phoenix.

Amelia grew up in Zap, N.D., where she was a teacher for several years. During World War II, she worked in Seattle, alongside "Rosie's Riveters."

On Sept. 3, 1949, she married Alfred W. Bowen in Beulah, N.D., before moving to Post Falls, Idaho, in 1952, where she raised her family.

She was a beloved wife, mother, homemaker, member of St. George's Catholic Church, and she loved fishing.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Alfred "Bub" and Valerie Bowen of Scottsdale, and Tom and Jereen Bowen of Kalispell; daughters, Patty Hegel and Charlotte Gross of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho; daughters and sons-in-law, Kathy and John Fisher of Renton, Wash., and Mary and Duane Grenny of Anchorage, Alaska; surviving grandchildren, Duane Rachunok, Dustin and Niki Bowen, Chad and Christina Bowen, Brandon Bowen, Aubrie Bowen, Rob Hegel, Kim Jones, Jill Bowen, Kelly and Dan Galle, and Ryan Gross; great-grandchildren, Ashley and Hunter Rachunok, Lexa Bowen, Kobe Bowen, Jessie and Riley Hegel, Casey Jones, and Hunter Dean; brothers, Sam Pulver of Bismarck, N.D., Leonard "Bud" Pulver of Beulah, N.D.; brothers and sisters-in-law, Louis "Curly" and Violet Pulver, of Zap, and Joe and Sally Pulver of Beulah; a sister, Lenora Schumacher, of Coeur d'Alene; and sister-in-law, Mary Pulver, of Beulah; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred W. Bowen; father, Samuel A. Pulver; mother, Lenora A. Pulver; a sister, Florence Koester; and brother, Frank Pulver.
