Knights fall to Phoenix

MISSOULA - Gavin Johnson ran for three touchdowns and Dave Garza caught three touchdown passes from Shane Jurasek as the Missoula Phoenix rolled over the Glacier Knights Saturday, 49-0, in Rocky Mountain Football League play.

The Phoenix, 3-0, led 29-0 at the half.

Jason Zielanski led Glacier offensively with 12 carries for 39 yards and five receptions for nine yards.

Kevin Brown netted eight yards on four carries.

Dan Holguin had one catch for 13 yards.

Glacier QB Ryan Bennett completed 9-of-23 passes for 31 yards. He was sacked once.

Defensively, Zielanski had six tackles from his strong safety position while middle linebacker Tony Rojo led with eight.

Jasper Howell had a fumble recovery and Eric Bachofner an interception, which he returned four yards.

Glacier, 0-3, hosts the Helena Titans, 0-3, on Saturday, 3 p.m., at Columbia Falls. It's the Knights' home opener.
