Wayne 'Mick' McGee, 66

Wayne "Mick" McGee, 66, "returned to our Heavenly Father," Sunday, July 29, 2007, at Brendan House in Kalispell. He was born in Kalispell on Aug. 30, 1940, to Harry and Cleo McGee. He attended school in Montana, Texas and Louisiana, and later returned to Kalispell.

He worked construction and mining and was employed with Wein Air where he was a crew member on a pioneer flight into Northern Alaska on a jet powered cargo plane.

Mick had three children from a previous marriage.

On Sept. 3, 1971, he married the love of his life, Sharon Rasmussen Cotton.

He later worked with Washington Construction and was a member of the Operating Engineers Union. He transferred to Soda Springs, Idaho, in 1974. In 1981, he left Washington Construction and opened his own business, McGee's Radiator, in Soda Springs, Idaho. He retired in 2003 and he and his wife, Sharon, returned to make their home in Kalispell.

After retirement Mick decided he needed to keep busy and he was hired by Romona and worked for Bob and Linda at Tri-City Quick Stop. He enjoyed all the people he worked with and the customers who came in.

Mick loved animals and never passed a cat or dog without giving them special attention. He took the same care of his favorite houseplants. He loved snow machining with friends in Soda Springs and card parties with friends and family. He was a "By Invitation Only" poker tournament player in Jackpot, Nev.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a stepfather, Bob Grenfell; and a daughter, Laura.

Mick is survived by his wife, Sharon McGee, of Kalispell; two sons, Mickey McGee and wife, Kathy, and Terry McGee, all of Las Vegas; three daughters, Mylissa McGee of Las Vegas, Susan Wilson and husband, Mike, of Fredericksburg, Texas, and Polebridge, and Linda Hulse and husband, Joseph, of Soda Springs, Idaho; two sisters, Diana Stoller and husband, Walt, of Somers, and Linda Werner and husband, Otto, of Arizona; a brother, Harry McGee, of Marysville; also a friend and father figure, Doug Wise of Kalispell; 11 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial Services for Wayne "Mick" McGee will be held at 2 p.m. Friday Aug. 3, in the Johnson Mortuary Chapel at 525 South Main Street, Kalispell, with an inurnment after at C.E. Conrad Memorial Cemetery. There will be no visitation.

Mick and his family were blessed by staff and volunteers of Hospice and suggests memorials be given to Home Options, Hospice; 175 Commons Loop, Suite 100, Kalispell, MT 59901.
