Joan Marie Clayton, 54

Joan Marie Clayton, 54, passed away Aug. 7, 2007, at her home in Kalispell. Joan was born June 18, 1953, in Colorado Springs, Colo., to Leonard and Norma Jean (Roberts) Smith. She was raised in Manitou Springs, Colo., graduating from high school in 1971.

Joan married Barry Clayton on Nov. 17, 1984, in Toole, Utah. She worked in health-related fields her whole life as a certified nurses aide, and as an emergency medical technician.

She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, as well as reading. Her family was the main thing in her life.

Joan was preceded in death by her father, Leonard; and a very special aunt, Josie.

She is survived by her husband, Barry Clayton, of Kalispell; her mother, Norma Jean Smith; daughter, Marie, and husband, William Jackson, of Kalispell; a son, John Sablan, of Kalispell; siblings, George, Alex and Eric Smith; sisters, Marianne Moore and Rita Lewis; grandchildren, Gabrielle Sablan, Darroch Jackson, Tyler Jackson and Greylen Jackson.

Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 11, at Buffalo Hill Funeral Home, with the Rev. Tim Bartholomew officiating.
