Donna LuElla Redfield Mitchell, 75

Donna LuElla Redfield Mitchell passed away Saturday, Aug. 11, 2007, surrounded by her family, at Kalispell Regional Medical Center. She was born June 24, 1932, in Great Falls, to Wert and Luella (Hovey) Redfield.

Donna lived in Culbertson until 1969 when she moved to Hot Springs with her family. She attended the first licensed practical nurse school in Kalispell in 1971, and worked at the Hot Springs Convalescent Center, Kalispell Regional Medical Center, and the Columbia Falls Veterans home until 1985.

In 1985 she married Fred Mitchell and moved to Butte, until they retired and traveled around the United States ending up in Pensacola, Fla. Donna and Fred volunteered at the Naval Air Museum in Pensacola and Donna also volunteered with the Park Service at Fort Barrancas.

She cherished the many people and friends she made at both places. She enjoyed many years of traveling and especially enjoyed watching her grandchildren grow up and spending time with her family.

Donna was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Fred.

She is survived by her daughters, Sheila and Marcus Burget of Desert Center, Calif., and Diane and Darrell Stoner of Whitefish; sons, Robert Petersen of Culbertson, and Clay and Pam Petersen of Culbertson; two stepdaughters, Shirley and Gary Mandick of Butte, and Donna and Pat Kinney of Butte; a sister, Esther Petersen, of Great Falls; 10 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and her special friend, Bob Wilson, of Whitefish.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 18, at Christ Lutheran Church, 233 Kalispell Ave. in Whitefish.
