Margaret Louise (Maxwell) Fisco, 93

Margaret Louise (Maxwell) Fisco, 93, passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 21, 2007, at the Immanuel Lutheran Home in Kalispell. She was born on April 2, 1914, in Boise, Idaho, the daughter of Lonnie McCoy and Lena Martha (Roth) Maxwell.

Margaret attended schools in Boise and graduated from Boise High School and Boise Junior College, with a degree from the College of Idaho.

For six years Margaret taught home economics, typing and journalism at Melba High School in Idaho until her marriage on June 6, 1942, in Olympia, Wash., to Verne W. Fisco of Roundup.

Following Verne's discharge from the Army, they made their home in Roundup until coming to the Flathead in 1945. For over 50 years she was a member of the First Presbyterian Church where she was active in the women's organization, served as a member on several committees, and was a past deacon. Margaret was also a member of an extension club and served as a 4-H leader.

Margaret enjoyed sewing, crafts, crocheting, and tending to the flower garden.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, in 2001; her parents; a sister and a brother.

She is survived by a sister-in-law; and 10 nieces and nephews, including Robert Skagen of Roundup.

Funeral services for Margaret will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 24, at Johnson Mortuary Chapel with Pastor Glenn Burfeind officiating. Visitation will be from noon until 6 p.m. today, Aug. 23, at Johnson Mortuary. Burial will follow services at C.E. Conrad Memorial Cemetery.
