Woman collects $1,000, goes directly to jail

Flathead County Sheriff's deputies received a report of a 25-year-old woman who allegedly stole her grandmother's credit card and used it to get a $1,000 cash advance. Deputies located the woman and arrested her on a warrant for issuing bad checks. She is being held in the Flathead County Detention Center on $1,000 bail.

Cows overran U.S. 2 near the Ashley Lake turnoff. They also made a break for it on U.S. 2 near mile marker 104. Horses also got loose on U.S. 2 a few hours later.

Deputies mediated an easement dispute between neighbors on Whitetail Crossing.

Kittens were abandoned at the Old Steel Bridge.

A burglary reported at a bar on U.S. 2 wasn't really a burglary as the person was supposed to be there.

A reckless driver was reported on Van Sant Road. When police called to investigate, the man they contacted about it put his wife on the phone and refused to talk to officers.

Neighbors were yelling and making threats on Painted Hills Lane over subdivided land.

A bear took up residence in a person's yard in the 2300 block of U.S. 2.

A suspicious hitchhiker was reported near Hot Springs.

A woman shot herself in the leg while cleaning a gun. She was taken to the hospital.
