Lloyd Michael Turner, 64, died at his residence on Sunday, Aug. 26, 2007, in Kila. He was born Sept. 4, 1942, in Hardin, the son of Lloyd Neulen and Beulah Irene (Dunn) Faw.

At an early age Lloyd was adopted by his uncle and aunt, Robert Guy and Lora Arvilla Turner. He later moved to Kalispell.

After school Lloyd joined the United States Army where he was awarded the Sharp Shooter Award. After his assignment he returned home to Kalispell, and served in the Army National Guard.

He met and later married Norma Jean Calkins on Jan. 11, 1967, and made their home in Kila; they were married for 40 years.

Lloyd was a heavy equipment operator for Canyon Logging, Royal Logging and for Mike Walters.

Besides his family, the love of his life was building and painting street rods, many which are still here in Kalispell. They are street rods to be proud of.

Lloyd enjoyed woodworking, and could almost do anything with his hands. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed camping on the rare occasion that he could go. He was a member of the Glacier and National Street Rod Associations.

He was preceded in death by his biological parents; and by his adopted father, Robert Guy Turner.

Lloyd is survived by his wife, Norma Jean; daughter, Melissa Yarde; son, Darin Turner and wife, Katie; granddaughter, Kiley, and grandson Ashton; loving mother, Lora Arvilla Turner; and sister, Francis Nichalas, all of Kalispell; half sister, Donna Dewald, of Hardin; half brother, Kenneth Doane, of Semi Valley, Calif.; and many nieces and nephews.

Lloyd's wishes were to be cremated. Private family services will be held at a later date.
