William 'Bill' Winters, 72

William "Bill" Winters, 72, passed away on Aug. 28, 2007, at his home in Hungry Horse. He was born in Ashland, to Jack and Mary Winters on Aug. 27, 1935.

He married Shirley Frohlich and the two of them moved to Hungry Horse where they raised their family.

Bill was an avid outdoors man. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and snowmobiling. He loved to spend time with old friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley, and his parents.

He is survived by his children, Jay and Diana Winters, Robert and Kristee Winters, Woody Winters, and Scott and Wanda Winters; his nine grandchildren, Chris, Jenelle, Justin, Brad, Nik, Stormie, Nichole, Robert and Kristy; and two great-grandchildren, Alyssa and Isaac.

At his request there will be no funeral, but we will be having a potluck picnic at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 8, at Lion Lake on the north shore picnic area for friends and family wishing to come and celebrate his life.

Columbia Mortuary in Columbia Falls is in charge of the arrangements.
