Armed robbers hit Kalispell pizza restaurant

Kalispell police Sunday night continued its search for two suspects in an armed robbery at Papa John's pizza parlor that happened early Sunday morning.

Both a gun and a cattle prod reportedly were used during the robbery, in which two suspects got away with $1,300 in cash and checks.

Police said an employee of the business, located on East Idaho, had locked up for the night shortly before 2 a.m. and had gone to his vehicle in the parking lot when two people approached him. He described them as young males wearing dark clothing, with their faces covered.

One suspect came to the driver's side and tased him, he told officers who responded to the scene. Police on Sunday said the suspect actually had used a cattle prod rather than a Taser.

The second suspect went around to the passenger's side and pointed a gun into the window at the employee, police said, demanding the envelope containing the night's bank deposit.

They left with the money and were last seen heading north on foot along Fourth Avenue East.

Police are pursuing information toward a possible suspect, but had made no arrests by Sunday night.

The employee declined medical treatment at the scene.
