Whitefish

| December 24, 2007 1:00 AM

A Whitefish police officer on patrol early Sunday spotted a man lying on the ground beside the railroad tracks. He reportedly was intoxicated and had managed to crawl across the tracks before lying down. He got a ride to the city jail, where he stayed until he could sober up and make his way home.

Two women caught the attention of police two times early Sunday. The first meeting came at 1:30 a.m. on Central Avenue, where the two reportedly were fighting. There were no arrests and they went on their way. An hour later, officers were out with them at a business parking lot on U.S. 93 South. Police said they were quarreling because one refused to get back in the vehicle for the ride home. She stayed elsewhere for the night.
