Flathead County sheriff's deputies

| February 1, 2007 1:00 AM

Flathead County sheriff's deputies charged a 22-year-old man with DUI and having no liability insurance after a U.S. 93 stop north of Lakeside.

Three men with some gang tattoos didn't get far when they drove up in a brown Chevy minivan and asked to clean a room for free in order to demonstrate a product. But the sheriff's office did get a call from the suspicious resident of Stage Bend Lane, who said they had headed south on Columbia Falls Stage Road.

A prowler on Sunrise Terrace and someone banging on the side of a house on Holt Drive sent Bigfork residents to the phone for help.

Stop cutting wood and put it back on that private property, a neighbor told the young man. He complied, the neighbor said, but returned and took it anyway.

Three elk and two deer were casualties of Flathead roads early Wednesday.

A meat-cutter walking to his job found a wallet on the ground, so turned it over to deputies.

A woman is getting threatening phone calls at home and work.

The "doper looking kids" with purple hair, lots of piercings and lipstick on the males didn't look like the kind of people who would own the guns they were trying to sell at the pawn shop.
