Alice (Connie) Kirby, 78, "left this life" on Monday, Jan. 29, 2007, in St. George, Utah, at Dixie Regional Hospital. A long time resident of the Flathead valley and Thompson Falls area, she was born April 27, 1928, in Logansport, Ind. to Otto and "Sophie" Grantham.

She loved the outdoors and family gatherings. She especially enjoyed her grandchildren and was happiest when they were around.

Even in poor health for many years, her kindness and love for family was a blessing to all that knew and loved her! She had a great love for her church and its hymns and loved it when her family sang to her. Even though she had little, she gave willingly, and always wished she could do more. She will be remembered always as an honest, caring person who found joy and courage in her family and faith.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Marion; son, Jim; sisters, Florence and Iris; brothers, Willand, Melvin, Paul and Lloyd; son-in-law, Ralph Hogan; and grandson, Joshua Hogan.

She is survived by brother, Charlie Grantham; sister, Mae Corcoran; daughters, Jennie and Rob McMullen, and Linda and Clay Cook; granddaughters, Jeriee and Allison; and grandsons Lee, Rance, Kelly, Jake, Jon and David. Also left behind were many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and one great-great-grandson!

"She has gone home, but will be greatly missed by all!"

Funeral services for Alice were held Feb. 1 in St. George, Utah.

Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 8, at White Pine Cemetary west of Thompson Falls.

A rememberance gathering will be held for family and friends at 4 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 10, at the home of Allison and Don Maxwell, 404 S. Meridian, Kalispell.
