Whitefish police arrested a 27-year-old Florida man Tuesday night after pursuing his rental car through downtown, police lights flashing and rental car sliding on the ice as he tried to drive off - until he hit one of the city's stumps remaining from the Stumptown celebration of Winter Carnival. He was charged with his second DUI and eluding/resisting arrest.

Another 27-year-old man was arrested Wednesday morning for driving with a suspended license.

Suspicious circumstances downtown turned out to be nothing more than a woman who had fallen, and a man standing over her to help her up.
