Gary Lee Hylton, 56

Gary Lee Hylton, 56, of Hungry Horse, husband, father and grandpa, passed away Feb. 7, 2007, due to cancer.

He was born Dec. 16, 1950, in Renton, Wash. He graduated from Franklin High School in Seattle and attended a few years of college in the Seattle area.

Along with managing a gas station, he was a jack-of-all-trades.

Gary was a Vietnam veteran and during his service in the Army he was awarded two Purple Hearts, a Bronze Star and a Commendation Medal.

In 1999, he married Sandra Gomes at the Southfork Saloon in Martin City.

He was captain and president of the Men's Canyon Pool League and took in stray critters.

Gary's hobbies and interests included golf, soccer, pool, rafting, burping, long drives with good tunes, and a "green thumb."

He was preceded in death by his father, James Radley; his grandparents; and his ex-wife.

Gary is survived by his wife, Sandra Ann Hylton, of Hungry Horse; mother, Irean Radley of Seattle; children, Jennifer Hylton, Curtis Gomes, Sara Gomes and Laura Gomes; brothers and sisters, George, Ronnie and Marie; and grandchildren, Karma Hylton and Bailey Hylton. He also leaves behind his "grandpuppy" Dakota.

He is also survived by his nephews, Chris Anderson and Lars Larson; niece, Bonnie Larson; sister-in-law, Suzie; brothers-in-law, Ed and George; in-laws, Quintin and Catherine Richter; and many, many friends.

Cremation has taken place.

A service with military honors ceremony will take place at 2 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 17, at Hungry Horse Park. A celebration of life and potluck will follow at the Southfork Saloon; no black attire, please. Families are welcome.

Memorials are suggested to cancer research.
