Bigfork has bye to open divisional hoops action

The girls Northwestern A divisional basketball tournament begins Thursday in Eureka with regular-season champion Bigfork holding a bye.

The Vals finished league play with an 11-1 mark, 16-2 overall.

Three games are on tap for opening-day play in the three-day tournament.

The top two teams advance to state. If a challenge game is necessary, that will be played on Monday.

Thursday

Bigfork (16-2, 11-1) bye

4 p.m. - Polson (5-13, 4-8) vs. Eureka (6-11, 4-8)

6 p.m. - Whitefish (7-11, 6-6) vs. Libby (8-10, 4-8)

8 p.m. - Columbia Falls (12-6, 10-2) vs. Ronan (6-12, 3-9)

Friday

4 p.m. - loser out

6 p.m. - Whitefish/Libby winner vs. Columbia Falls/Ronan winner

8 p.m. - Bigfork vs. Polson/Eureka winner

Saturday

9:30 a.m. - loser out

11 a.m. - loser out

6:30 p.m. - Third place

8 p.m. - Championship game
