Flathead County sheriff's deputies were called to a disturbance when a woman's ex-husband showed up at her home, where five children were in day care. He reportedly called her names and got in her face, so she hit him. A child's parent showed up during the fracas.

There was a cat up a tree. Now it's free.

Deputies have received several calls reporting possibly neglected, sick or abused animals in the days since starving and dead horses were found in a Bayou Road pasture. Authorities are following up on them.

A vehicle flipped on its roof in the ditch along Walsh Road near LaSalle, and two people were seen running from the scene. A man was reported lying in the ditch, so the Columbia Falls Fire Department was called, but had to search for the victim who also had fled the scene. One eventually was located at a home on South Hilltop.

The caller said there was loud music, drinking and drugs next door, but deputies reported that the concern was unfounded.

Water flooded a basement on East Nicklaus Avenue after a pipe broke.

Someone ordered a computer to be delivered, but it wasn't the caller who put it on his credit card. There was a spam e-mail involved. Could have been fraud.

An Amber Alert went out for a child reported missing from Plummer, Idaho; the child was found.

A theft that occurred Feb. 7, and an assault on Tuesday were reported at Bigfork High School.

Traffic mishaps continued across the valley Monday evening and Tuesday. They included slide-ins, rollovers and fender-benders that caused no injuries.
