Dorothy 'Dot' Olson Bruce, 85

Dorothy "Dot" Olson Bruce, 85, passed away Feb. 15, 2007, at North Valley Hospital in Whitefish, due to natural causes.

She was born June 2, 1921, in Whitewater to Olaf and Millie Olson.

At the age of 2, she moved to Malta, and two years later moved to Great Falls where she was raised and educated.

In 1941, she married Herb Bruce in Stanford. They moved to Cut Bank in 1960, where she retired from Schlumberger Well Service. They moved from Cut Bank to Hungry Horse in 1981 and later to Columbia Falls in 1994.

Dorothy was an avid bowler, loved to read, enjoyed crossword and jigsaw puzzles, crocheting and embroidering. She lived life to the fullest and always had a cute, snappy comeback for everything.

She was preceded in death by her mom and dad, Olaf and Millie; her twin sister, Donna at birth; her brothers, Clifford and Robert Olson; and her husband of 57 years Herb Bruce.

Dorothy is survived by a daughter, Donna Samson, of Columbia Falls; a son, Richard Bruce, and wife, Sharon, of Missoula; a son, William "Bill" Bruce, and wife, Rose, of Columbia Falls; grandchildren, Tami Finwick of Billings, Bruce Samson of Newman, Calif., Shelly Hobbs of Columbia Falls, Lorrie Jones of Spokane, Yancy, Wyatt and Kathy Bruce of Missoula; and seven great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nephews.

Dorothy will be deeply missed and always will be remembered as a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and friend.

A memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, July 2, at the Columbia Falls Assembly of God, with the Rev. Daryl Newby officiating.
