Melissa Leann Sagen, 26
Melissa Leann Sagen of Columbia Falls and Whitefish, 26, born Nov. 13. 1980, in Whitefish, died Friday, Feb. 16, 2007. She was a passenger in an automobile accident between St. Regis and Plains that was caused by a deer lying on the road. Melissa was greatly loved by many who knew her and will be forever missed.
She is survived by two beautiful daughters, Jasmine and Megan Walters; the girls' father, Scott Walters; her loving mother and father, Tammy Benzine and Dan Sagen, of Columbia Falls and Whitefish; two cherished brothers, Joshua Sagen of Kalispell, and Jesse Sagen of Mesa, Ariz.; and her loving grandparents, Harvey and Lorraine Benzine of Columbia Falls, and Ed and Patricia Payne of Whitefish. Melissa also left many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who love and miss her very much.
"We love you Melissa, thank you for all the memories, laughter and love that you gave each of us. The fishing and snowmobiling trips were unforgettable."
Melissa enjoyed all things in life. She lived life to its fullest and experienced more than most people hope for. Her children and family meant everything her. Jasmine and Megan are a tribute to Melissa's efforts and reflect their mother's character and great attitude.
"Our family would like to thank everyone for their support, prayers and help during this difficult time. Melissa was precious to us all."
In lieu of flowers or gifts, please send donations to Park Side Credit Union in Columbia Falls where a trust fund has been established for Melissa's children, Megan and Jasmine.
Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 24, at Columbia Mortuary, 892-4289. After the services please join us for a barbecue-style celebration of Melissa's life at Tom Sagen's house on Skyles Lake in Whitefish.
