Arvadia L. (Bennie) Parsons, 64

Arvadia L. (Bennie) Parsons, 64, of Libby died Friday Feb. 23, 2007, at her home in Libby after a long bought with cancer. She was born Jan. 24, 1943, in Stamford, Texas, to Cleir and Crystal Caldwell Sommer. She attended grade school in Phoenix. At the age of 10, she moved to Libby. At the age of 16, she graduated in the top ten of her class of 1960 from Libby High School.

She married Robert Parsons on June 10, 1960, at Crystal and Ken Paulson's home in Libby. She went to work for Lincoln County at the Department of Motor Vehicles and quickly worked her way to the head of the department. She retired from the Department of Motor Vehicles in 1998.

She enjoyed reading, music, computers, art, photography, learning, cooking, and fishing. She was a member of the Libby Christian Church since 1964.

Survivors include her husband, Bob of Libby; three sons, Cash Parsons and wife, Patricia, of Kalispell; Carl Parsons and wife, Valerie; Chris Parsons and wife, Betty, all of Libby; sisters, Down Thrasher and husband, John, of Troy; Reba Varela and husband, Carlos, of Phoenix; eight grandchildren, Josh, Jeremiah, Stephen, Sunny-Mae, Rebecca, Stephanie, Tyler and Josiah.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday Feb. 27, at the Libby Christian Church. Visitation will be from 1 to 7 p.m. Monday and from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Local arrangements are by the Nelson & Vial Funeral Home of Libby.
