Someone asked the Flathead County Sheriff's Office to hurry when he reported a screaming man who said he had a gun, but when a deputy arrived at the trailers behind Packers Roost, all was quiet.

He thought the carload of teenagers parked in his Whitefish Stage driveway was there to beat up his granddaughter. One girl got out of the car and headed for the granddaughter's window, so he yelled at the girl to get out of there. Earlier, he said, people had left threatening messages on his granddaughter's phone.
