Anna G. Heikens, 96

Anna G. Heikens, 96, passed away Friday, Dec. 29, 2006, at Immanuel Lutheran Home in Kalispell.

She was born June 27, 1910, in Glasgow, Mont., the daughter of William and Anna (Altmeyer) Bretzke.

She was raised in Glasgow and on June 22, 1929, was united in marriage to John Heikens at Glasgow. They farmed in the Nashua until 1943, when they moved to the Flathead Valley, where they farmed in the Creston and Bigfork communities until their retirement. They were active at St. Catherine's Catholic Church in Bigfork and also the Eastside Grange for more than 50 years. They moved to Kalispell in 1987, where she attended Risen Christ Catholic Church and later attended St. Matthew's Catholic Church in Kalispell.

She was preceded in death by her husband; and 12 brothers and sisters.

She is survived by a daughter, Helen Zimmerman, and husband, Ray, of Kalispell; a son, Tom Heikens, and wife, Joyce, of Bigfork; six grandchildren, Aleta Hall and husband, Bill, Ron Zimmerman and wife, Kelley, Jani Dryden and husband, Ron, Randy Heikens and wife, Maria, Jerry Heikens, and Jill Smetana and husband, Todd; 10 great-grandchildren, Andrea Hall, Tyler Hall and wife, Stephanie, Kerah Zimmerman, Kadie Zimmerman, Kyren Zimmerman, Kasidy Zimmerman, April Dryden, Ray Heikens, Scott Morrison and Nicholas Smetana; and two great-great-grandchildren, Brenden Fox and Teagen Hall.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 4, 2007, at Johnson Mortuary Chapel, with Fr. Vic Langhans officiating. Visitation will be from noon to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2007, at Johnson Mortuary. Burial will be after services at C.E. Conrad Memorial Cemetery.
