Wendy Sue McMurdo, 39

Wendy Sue McMurdo passed away Dec. 25, 2006. She was born in Whitefish, on March 2, 1967, to Reginald and Carol McMurdo. She was the oldest of three children, the big sister to twin brothers Kevin and Jesse.

Wendy grew up in Whitefish. She enjoyed life in a small town and was fortunate enough to live one block from the Whitefish City Beach. She was a member of the swim team and participated in pep club and cheerleading for the Whitefish Bulldogs. Wendy was very loved by her fellow classmates as well as by all who met her.

After graduating from Whitefish High School with the class of 1985, she attended flight attendant school in Vancouver, Wash. She continued her education at Sun College in Utah. While in Salt Lake City she worked as an office manager at a metal finishing company. Wendy lived and worked in various places, including Missoula. While there she spent valuable time with her mother, Carol. During that time she became a certified personal care assistant. She finally came 'home' to Whitefish. While in Whitefish she spent the last several years with her father, for which she was very grateful.

Wendy had beautiful eyes and a contagious smile. She was loved and will be missed terribly by all who loved her.

Wendy was preceded in death by her grandpa, Rex McMurdo; grandma, Vera McMurdo; and grandpa, Carl Benson.

She is survived by her father, Reginald 'Reggie' McMurdo, of Whitefish; mother, Carol Hubley, of Riddle, Ore.; brothers, Kevin and Jesse McMurdo; grandma, Frances Benson; nephew, Jacob McMurdo; uncles, Martin McMurdo, Larry Benson and Mike Benson; aunt, Barbara Benson; and several cousins.

There will be a formal memorial service to be held in the spring. It will be announced in the local papers at a later date. The family has been in the care of Pete at Austin Funeral Home.
