Donald F. Kruse, 76

Donald F. Kruse, 76, of Great Falls, a former custodian, died after a long illness, on Christmas Eve 2006, at his home.

Donald was born July 13, 1930, in Okanagan, Wash., and was raised in Eden. He married Velma E. Dorr on Dec. 18, 1949, in Great Falls.

In his early years, he worked for various ranches before going to work for Great Northern Railroad for six years; then Modern Equipment for 13 years; and for School District No. 1 for 26 years, until his retirement.

Before he became ill, one of his greatest joys was hunting and fishing on the Smith River with his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred P. and Thelma E. Kruse; and a sister, Rosella Boles.

Donald is survived by his wife of 57 years, Velma E. Kruse, of Great Falls; four sons, Erling D. Kruse of Alberton, Allan F. Kruse and his wife, Barb, of Pincher Creek, Alberta; Rodney M. Kruse and his wife, Joan, of Kalispell, Bradley E. Kruse and his wife, Wendy, of Ulm; his grandchildren, Justin, Andrea, Brianna, Kaylynn, Kelsa, Kasidy, Jason, Jessie, Staci, Paul, Chad, Malcolm, Cory and Sheri Kramer; 11 great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Arnald and Roland Kruse, of Great Falls.
