Patricia Johnston Strife, 99

Patricia Johnston Strife, 99, of Bigfork passed away Monday, Jan. 8, 2007, at her home. Mrs. Strife was born June 6, 1907, at Cartersville, Ga., to Susan Sypert and Charles W. Johnston Sr. of Pembroke, Ky.

She attended the University of Oklahoma where she studied music education. A retired school teacher and choral director from the Riverside, Calif., school system, Mrs. Strife served the Bigfork Methodist Church as a piano accompanist for several years.

Mrs. Strife was the wife of Sherm Strife, who preceded her in death. The couple were involved in many community projects in Bigfork, including the establishment of the Senior Citizens Center in Bigfork.

She is survived by many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews in Alaska, Washington, Oklahoma, Kentucky and Florida. She leaves behind many friends in the Bigfork area who enjoyed her outgoing personality and exceptional musical talents.

Funeral services for Patricia will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 13, in the Johnson Mortuary chapel. There will be no visitation. The burial will be at 1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 15, in the Victor Cemetery in Victor.
