Peggy Hammond, 69

Peggy Hammond, 69, of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, died on Jan. 9, 2007, at Bee Hive Homes in Coeur d'Alene. She was born at the ranger station in Featherville, Idaho, on Sept. 11, 1937, to Neil and Zoelene (Smith) Platts.

In 1955, Peggy graduated from Flathead High School in Kalispell. She was employed as a survey technician for JUB Engineers and Meckel Engineering in Coeur d'Alene.

Her hobbies included running, hiking, biking and rockhounding.

Peggy is survived by her two sons and daughters-in-law, David and Julia Hammond of Buckley, Wash., and Daniel and Maria Hammond of Las Vegas; and by her daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Mike Lewis, of Coeur d'Alene. She is also survived by three brothers and sisters-in-law, Terry and Madeline Platts of Gooding, Idaho, Richard and Karen Platts of Dallas, and David and Erin Platts of Covington, Wash.; one sister, Judith Loback, of Death Valley, Calif.; and two grandchildren, Suzie Hammond and Chelsea Lewis.

Yates Funeral Home, Coeur d'Alene Chapel, was entrusted with the care of final arrangements.
