Lucy M. White of Eugene, Ore., passed away Dec. 29, 2006, of age-related causes at the age of 86 years. Lucy was nearly a lifetime resident of Kalispell until she moved to Eugene to be closer to her younger sister, Muriel Frosaker.

She was preceded in death by two other sisters, Helen Jones of Bismarck, N.D., and Harriet White of Eugene.

Lucy was born in Berthold, N.D., on March 22, 1920, to Harry and Agnes White.

She graduated from Minot State Teachers' College in Minot, N.D., in 1942.

Lucy taught school for a number of years in Washington state but spent most of her teaching career in Kalispell. She never married but, throughout her life, Lucy shared a home with lifelong friend and fellow teacher, Loran Pierce. Miss Pierce passed away several years ago in Kalispell.

Lucy thoroughly enjoyed socializing with her many friends and she loved to play cards. Through her life, she was devoted to her pets, enjoying the company of her cocker spaniel, Lady, right up to her passing.

Lucy is survived by her sister, Muriel Frosaker of Eugene; along with two nephews, two nieces, and several great-nephews and -nieces.

Lucy will be interred in Kalispell next to her lifelong friend, Loran.
