Officers arrest assault suspect

Columbia Falls police had to force open a door just after midnight and arrest a 25-year-old on suspicion of partner or family member assault and obstructing a peace officer. A woman made her way to the police station after a domestic assault at the home, but was concerned for a 2-year-old who still was in the house with the man who allegedly was intoxicated. He wouldn't open the door for the officers, so they forced their way in.

Two guys grabbed four cases of beer from Super 1, dropped three and made off with one a little after 2 a.m. Whitefish police are investigating.
