Too much time and too many BB guns

| January 23, 2007 1:00 AM

Somebody with too much time on their hands and at least one too many BB guns in their possession caused a lot of grief in Kalispell starting just after midnight Sunday. At last count, Kalispell police had received 11 reports of windows broken out of vehicles and homes. Northwest Montana Human Resources' front door also had a BB hole in it.

Paintballs were the weapon of choice for vandals taking aim at the South Tower clock, the office building and Lions Park on U.S. 93 South.

The night before, a truck's window was broken out and the truck broken into.

Two 21-year-old men were arrested for possession of dangerous drugs and drug paraphernalia just after 9 p.m.

Another arrest came shortly before midnight, when a 45-year-old man was charged with his second DUI, resisting arrest and driving while his license is suspended.

A fight was brewing in the Fatt Boys parking lot, the caller said. Police arrived in time to usher the crowd of about 30 back inside. Nobody wanted to press charges.

Her boyfriend was at the house breaking stuff, she said. Police told him to leave until he could cool off. He did.

Don't they own snow shovels? The caller complained that residents and business owners along South Meridian had let so much snow pile up on their sidewalks that he had to walk in the street. The offending snow-hoarders will receive letters from the city.

The woman was offended by a vulgarity somebody repeatedly wrote in the dirt on her car. She reported it to police, and will press charges if she catches them doing it again.
