John 'Jack' D. Collin, 76

Jack Collin, 76, died on Jan. 19, 2007, of natural causes in Oregon. He was born in Glasgow, on Oct. 24, 1930. He graduated from high school and immediately enlisted in the U.S. Navy where he served our country and continued his education. He retired after 20 years as a chief petty officer.

He was hired by Lockheed and retired as an electronics engineer. Jack became very involved with computers in their infancy. He wrote programs and helped family and friends with software and hardware problems with great enthusiasm.

Jack moved from California to Montana, and finally Salem, Ore.

One of Jack's many hobbies was photography.

He will be missed by many for his love, generosity, sharing of his time and for the many computer jokes.

He is survived by his stepdaughter, Shelley Brown, his stepson, Jack Cretney, his two grandsons, Christopher and Matthew Brown, all of West Hills, Calif.; his aunt and uncle, Pat and Don Paulson, and many cousins, all of Kalispell.

Memorial services will be held in California at a later date.
