Nettie Tkachyk, 94

Nettie Tkachyk, of Scobey, "went to be with the Lord" on June 28, 2007, at the Brendan House Nursing Home in Kalispell, at the age of 94. Nettie was born Sept. 28, 1912, in Scobey, to Dick and Katrine Ktytor. The family lived in the Ukrainian community north of Scobey. Nettie attended the country school there.

In 1931, she married Peter Tkachyk in Scobey and raised their family there, leaving Scobey in 1962 and living in various places.

In 1988 they moved to Laurel; after the death of her husband she moved to Kalispell.

Her family and grandchildren were her life. She was a faithful Christian, reading her Bible and being involved in her church. She loved cooking, sewing quilts, her children and grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Peter; daughter, Leona; brothers, Bill and John; and a sister, Ann.

She is survived by her daughters, Mary and Ernie Hackmann of Scobey, Deloris and Leslie Weber of Billings, Patty and Merlyn Haugon of Greenbush, Minn., Jeanne and Robert Beglau of Laurel; sons, Paul and Edna Tkachyk of Missoula, and Ralph Tkachyk of Kalispell; 19 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m., July 5, at Smith Funeral Chapel in Laurel. Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m., July 6, at Smith Funeral Chapel-Laurel; interment will follow at the Laurel Cemetery.
