Sparks fly between man, deputies

| July 5, 2007 1:00 AM

Flathead County Sheriff's deputies arrested a 19-year-old man for criminal endangerment, criminal mischief, and resisting arrest in Hungry Horse after he shot a firework at four deputies. It landed close enough to singe one officer's pants and burn his car. The suspect was arrested after a short foot chase.

Deputies broke up a couple different fights, each involving several people, later that night.

A woman had the window of her car shot out by a BB gun as she was driving on U.S. 93.

A man went to reclaim his car after the man he sold it to neglected to pay him for it.

A car ran over a deer on Foys Canyon Road.

Deputies were called out to apprehend a prowler on Peck Road in Columbia Falls.

Somebody broke into a house in the Rainbow End trailer court on U.S. 2 and stole a wallet.

A puppy was abandoned on West Reserve Drive.
