Mavs drill Twins

WHITEFISH - Two big innings helped the Missoula Mavericks take care of the Glacier Twins 14-4 Sunday afternoon, giving the Mavericks a 3-1 edge in the American Legion baseball season series.

Missoula tallied five runs in the fourth to take a 7-1 lead and finished with a sixth run ninth inning.

Conor Dwyer, 2-for-5, homered for the Mavericks and finished with six RBIs.

Glacier out-hit Missoula 10-8. Scott Palmer, Brad Bell and Zane Ridings all had two hits for the Twins.

Bell doubled twice and finished with two RBIs.

Brad Nielsen had Glacier's other extra base hit, a triple.

Missoula, 9-3 in Western AA play, won Saturday's game, 18-2. The Twins fall to 6-7.

The Twins host the Sapa Johnsrud Memorial Tournament, which begins Tuesday and runs through Saturday.
