Mission Valley picks up 2 more wins

POLSON - Mission Valley took a nonconference American Legion doubleheader from the Lobos of Tumwater, Wash., on Monday, winning 2-0 and 13-5.
Eric Locke's sac fly to center field scored John Rausch and Tim Rausch, 2-for-2, tripled in Kyle Brown to account for all of the scoring in the opener. Both runs came in the third inning.
In the second contest, Mission Valley exploded for 11 runs in the first inning. The Mariners had 16 players bat in the inning and pounded out nine hits. Mission Valley had 13 hits for the game.
The Mariners (45-7) have six games left before post season play. They host the Missoula Mavericks (A) on Wednesday for a doubleheader starting at 4 p.m.
