Frank W. Rhodes, 94

Frank W. Rhodes, 94, of Whitefish, passed away at his home in Forest Acres on Friday, July 20, 2007, of natural causes. He was born Sept. 2, 1912, in Eureka, the son of William and Berenetta (Drady) Rhodes.

Frank married Laura Tusen of Rexford on March 8, 1952.

He was employed by the Great Northern Railroad. The couple first lived in Kalispell, then moved to Stryker, in 1958 moved to Olney and finally in 1963 to Whitefish.

He joined the Moose Lodge of Kalispell in 1982.

He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers; two sisters; two sons, Bernard and Edward Rhodes; and three grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Laura; six sons, Jake and Julie Rhodes of Hungry Horse, Virgil and Elma Rhodes of Columbia Falls, Wesley and Debbie Rhodes of Coram, Donald and Marie Rhodes of Kalispell, Albert and Theresa Rhodes of Roosevelt, Utah, and Calvin and Brenda Rhodes of Redmond, Ore.; three daughters, Anita Rhodes of Salt Lake City, Utah, Teresa and Richard Wassmer of Whitefish, and Brenda Roy of Whitefish; 22 Grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mary Burlingham of Eureka.

Memorial services will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, July 28, at the Kalispell Moose Lodge. Family and friends are invited to come and celebrate the life of a Father/Brother/Uncle/and beloved friend. Rev. Bill Baumgart will officiate.

Austin Funeral Home in Whitefish is in charge of arrangements.
