Beverly Ann (Hauge) Semer, 73, died of cancer at her home in Cocoa Beach, Fla., on Tuesday, May 22, 2007, surrounded by family. She was born May 28, 1933, in Powers Lake, N.D., the daughter of Clarence and Sylvia Hauge.

She grew up in the Kalispell area and attended Egan School and Flathead County High School. She moved to Washington and worked for the Boeing Company in Kent, Wash., for 32 years. She retired to sunny Florida in 1990.

Beverly was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Sylvia deYong and Clarence Hauge; her daughter, Laurel Diane Seelig; and a son, Gregory Clarence Leighty.

She is survived by her adoring husband, Nick A. Semer; loving daughters, Kim Sheree Cheney and Desiree Dior Tauvell; her 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, whom she doted on. Also surviving her are three sisters, Denise Role and husband, Howard, of Spokane, Cheryl Fritz and husband, Carter, of Kalispell, and Bonita Hunt and husband, Bob, of Houston; one brother, Ron deYong and wife, Dee, of Kalispell and California; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was a wonderful mother, wife, sister and friend. She loved having family members around her and filing her home with laughter. She loved playing with her cats, doing crossword puzzles, and playing cards (which she nearly always won). She was funny, smart and witty. Bev was beautiful inside and out. She was a very gutsy, courageous and classy lady. Bev was so incedibly gracious, giving and generous and couldn't do enough for those she loved. She will be deeply, deeply missed.

Memorial services were held May 25 at South Brevard Funeral Home in Melbourne, Fla. A memorial service will also be held on June 23 in Seattle.
