Mabel E. Dowell, 100

Mabel E. Dowell, 100, passed away Sunday, June 10, 2007, at the Mountain View Manor in Eureka. She was born on Jan. 3, 1907, at Winchester, Wis., the daughter of Johannes and Olga (Johansen) Peterson.

She loved doing arts and crafts and was also an avid gardener, enjoying her vegetable garden as well as her flower gardens until entering Prestige Assisted Living at the age of 97. She will be truly missed by those who loved and knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her two husbands, Charles 'Hoot' Franklin in August 1972, and Clyde Dowell in January of 1991; her daughter, Helen Hanson; her son, Charles 'Bud' Franklin Jr.; one brother; and two sisters.

She is survived by eight grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and also numerous nieces and nephews and friends.

Memorial services for Mabel will be announced at a later date.
